AEAS考试定冠词和冠词的使用方法

　　首先：什么时候用 ‘a’/ ‘an’ ?

　　* I need a holiday.

　　There is a policeman at the door.

　　用在单数可数名词前表示“某一个“

　　* A car must be insured.

　　A soldier must obey rules.

　　用在的单数可数名词前表示“每个“

　　* A couple, a quarter, a thousand, a million

　　用在某些用数字表示的短语中

　　* In a temper, on a large scale, make a fool of, all of a sudden……

　　用于某些固定短语中

　　其次：什么时候用 ‘the’?

　　* Many people come here to visit the old castle.

　　表示某个特定的东西

　　* The compass was invented in China.

　　The whale is in danger of becoming extinct.

　　表示一类人或东西

　　* Let’s go to the classroom.

　　Please shut the door.

　　表示双方都知道的人或事

　　* The sun, the moon, the universe, the atmosphere

　　用于独一无二的事物前

　　* I live on the second floor.

　　用于序数词前表示顺序

　　* The is the most interesting book I have ever read.

　　用在最高级前

　　* Put the blame on sb., keep the peace, on the alert, on the contrary

　　用于某些固定词组

　　最后：什么时候不用呢?

　　1. 专有名词，抽象名词前不加冠词。

　　例如： Wisdom is better than strength.

　　Blood is thicker than water.

　　2. 表示交通工具和学科的名词前不加冠词。
